Ever since our very first trip in 2011, I fell in love with Tbilisi. First and foremost, because the city is truly unique – where else can you enjoy sulphur baths 24 hours a day, see a waterfall a few steps from the city centre, and travel with a zip line from the top of a mountain to the Botanical Gardens?

We’ll already told you about our favourite things to do in Tbilisi, and the amazing Georgian food is no longer a secret – so, to help you plan your next Tbilisi trip, we’ve decided to put together this article with our favourite hotels in Tbilisi, all tried and tested!

1) The Biltmore

The Biltmore Tbilisi Hotel was the first glass skyscraper in Georgia, and the highest hotel in the Caucasus Region. The Hotel is situated in the centre of Tbilisi, not far from Rustaveli Avenue and points of interest like the Georgian National Opera Theatre, National Gallery, the historic centre and the Sulfur Baths District of Abanotubani.

After the dissolution of the USSR and subsequent Abkhazia war, thousands of refugees travelled from the war-torn region to the city. They were housed in the Iveria Hotel, where they remained for over a decade.

In 2004, the refugees were given homes in residential districts around the city, and the hotel was renovated. The Iveria hotel is found in a very strategical and beautiful position, between the beautiful Mtkvari River and the nearby mountains, and a 2 minutes walking distance to Rustaveli Avenue where you can find great restaurants shopping and fun nightlife spots.

Stoop! If you ask me, Rooms Hotel is THE BEST hotel in Tbilisi. I stayed there twice over the years and love everything about it – the vintage/David Lynch-ish vibe in the rooms, the tasty breakfast spread, and the inner garden.

If you’re looking for a nice, not too formal and a cozy place, Rooms Hotel is exactly what you need. Rooms Hotel is located in the quirky Vera neighbourhood, close to many traditional Georgian homes and to some cool hip and dive bars.

All rooms have air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a minibar and a flat-screen TV, bathrooms come with slippers and a hairdryer. The Hotel also has a bar and restaurant, with a delicious menu of Georgian/International cuisine. Guests can also have access to a well-equipped gym.

5) Stamba Hotel Tbilisi

The design of Stamba Hotel, located in the building of a former publishing house, was conceived to highlight the industrial splendour of the 20th century, with nostalgic references to the 20s/30s – the result is a glamorous vibe, but still distinctly contemporary.

This is one of the best boutique hotels in Tbilisi! Shota Rustaveli Boutique Hotel is a place where hospitality meets art, with precious pieces of art and design anywhere you look.

Shota Hotel is in the Mtatsminda district in central Tbilisi, not far from Rustaveli Theatre and from Rustaveli Avenue. 8) Fabrika Hostel

The Fabrika Hostel was once a Soviet sewing factory, and later it was transformed into a fresh urban space – besides the hostel, the former factory complex also houses a co-working space, bar, café, and pop-up shops.

The Hostel is a short distance from the historic centre of Tbilisi, not far from Ninoshvili street. All rooms have comfortable mattresses, air conditioning, and fast Wi-Fi.

The dormitory rooms are equipped with individual reading lamps, lockers and a shared bathroom. Private rooms have private bathrooms with hairdryers. 

9) Opera Hotel

The Opera Hotel is found in a very strategic position, directly on Rustaveli Avenue. Other attractions like Freedom Square are less than 10 minutes walk away, and the hotel is well connected with public transportation through Rustaveli Metro Station.
